About the Drive In

The Country Drive In is a restaurant with many "faces." About once every year, the workers at the Drive In go back in time, to the time of poodle skirts and guys with white shirts. During this time when "it is the 50's," prices go down on popular items, like hamburgers and shakes. The items aren't quite as inexpensive as they would've been in 1955, but the prices are close. In 1994 a vicious storm hit Winthrop, damaging the Drive In. The storm blew the roof off and damaged some of the interior. Since then, the roof and all the damages have been replaced and are better than ever. If you ever find yourself in Winthrop, Minnesota, make a stop and have some of the best hamburgers and fries around.
